Liverpool vs Arsenal: Top five players to keep an eye on.

A Premier League match is always something that brings enthusiasm and competitiveness to every football fan all around the world. If you are an Englishman then I hope that we may certainly agree and will shake hands because although being an Indian football fans we all are universal supporters of the game.

Such is the rhythm Anfield will share in its iconic stadium tonight when Liverpool will face the leader of the points table, Arsenal. Although the league has completed most of its matches and the points difference is also quite visible but these are some of the matches which a club usually plays for its respect rather than petty points.

Liverpool is quite down the table and thus this match matters to them a lot if they want to stay in the race for the UEFA Europa Conference league or the UEFA Europa League. While on the other side Arsenal will not be much affected if they lose tonight but Arteta’s army will try hard to maintain their winning streak.

So as the match will be kicking off in a few hours and the hype has also been created, let’s discuss the top five players who can become the spotlights of the rivalry.

1. Gabriel Martinelli

The 21-year-old forward will be an important player to watch out for in today’s match at Anfield. The Brazilian player will be of great help as he can play in more than one position, like a striker, right-winger, left-winger and left mid-forward and can take the role of Saka from the opposite end. The young forward can help the Gunners in creating many goal chances and can also pull up his name in the goal sheet.

2. Mohammad Salah

The Egyptian talisman and Liverpool star is someone Liverpool has all their stakes on. His agile and swift control over the ball will be something Arsenal defenders will have to be extra conscious about. The right-winger’s long run will fumble the opponent and thus giving him too much space and allowing him to kick curvy shots can put Arsenal in danger.

3. Granit Xhaka

The Swiss and the club captain have great potential to revolve the ball around the field. The midfielder has created many crucial chances for the team and has made the midfield section an opportunistic and balanced area.

4. Virgil van Djik

The Dutch and the club captain are great with clearance and ball movement. Virgil can make the forwards hassle and irritated with his style of play. Thus Arsenal will need to plan a balanced strategy.

5. Gabriel Jesus

The star boy of Arsenal for this season, Jesus has a commendable record since signing for the club but after his comeback from the injury he has been finding the right moment to kickstart his journey again. The Liverpool squad have to keep a tight guard from the prevention of goals. The Brazilian is great with his left foot and is a great finisher for the squad.
